It's Snowing!

We got our first snow this morning and it made me think I should remind everyone of our January promo shoots! We are now booking for our 1/5 & 1/6 Bath Time Fun and 1/17-18 Fun in the Snow and 1/23-24 Streetscapes sessions. The bath time fun will involve a metal tub, bubbles, bath supplies, towels and lots of fun! The Fun in the Snow sessions will be shot on a snowy background with props and accessories to add to the atmosphere, such as winter dresses, muffs and capes for the girls, etc. Streetscapes will have a city skyline, lighted lamp posts and more. Occasions

All too often we hear people express that they need to get portraits done on their next "occasion"...birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, Christmas, Easter, etc. We believe here at American Tradition Photography that ALL of life is an "occasion"...an OCCASION to get a portrait done to capture "heartprints". The rest of the year 2009 is an occasion, the month of November is an occasion, today is an occasion, this very hour is an occasion, this very minute, this very second...all are "occasions". Our reasoning behind this? None of us know what faces us in our days ahead...bad weather, illness, time gets away from us and we don't get the portraits done, whatever it is...so think of EVERY minute of EVERY day as an occasion. Senior Portraits

I had the GREAT pleasure of doing senior portrait sessions for two absolutely AWESOME young people the last few days! Thank you Mr. T. and Miss A. for allowing me to capture your "heartprints". Both of these young people had great natural smiles and were so easy to work with. We did the majority of T.'s portraits indoors with just a few out at the railroad tracks. A. chose Falls Park in Pendleton for her senior portraits and that place is just beautiful! I love it more every time I go there. Here's a couple peeks of what we did.

More Details on Themed Shoots

Our western themed sessions are quickly approaching and bookings are filling! Here's a little more information about what you get with these very special sessions...Along with the very detailed background and prop sets, the session includes the session fee and (1) 8x10, (2) 5x7, & either (4) 3-1/2x5 or (8) diecut wallets (your choice). The GREAT NEWS is that out of those 7 or 11 portraits, there is NO limit to just one pose, or two poses, or even three poses!! If you want 7 (if you choose the 3-1/2x5) or 11 (if you choose the wallets) different poses, THAT'S JUST FINE!!! At American Tradition Photography we print what YOU want, not what seems most convenient! So book today before these are all filled up...and watch for our Halloween themed event in October. Themed samples

Here are a couple of samples of vintage themed sessions. These are very basic shots. All current sessions include VERY, VERY detailed sets and props, but simple shots can be done as well. The next themed event is a western event at the end of September and will include backdrops, saddles, cowboy hats, boots, straw bales, fence and a WHOLE LOT MORE! Book for 9/24 or 9/25 today!! **Remember ONLY 14 sessions will be available and once they are filled, the promo will be closed.

New Service!

Just started....now you can take your vacation and your own personal photographer with you! Make sure everyone in your party is in every picture, make sure you get GREAT shots of everything you enjoy. We are available to travel to your vacation destination for a fee of $315 a week plus room accommodations, as long as we can drive to the destination. If your destination requires flying, you will also incur flight costs. For that you get full photography coverage for your vacation (please just allow us regular meal times and a little r & r at the end of the night), and you get ALL of your photos on CD to do with as you please. Spotlight on Portrait Parties

We thought we'd do a brief spotlight periodically on our portrait parties to give you more information on them and maybe put in some shots from some of them. Our first spotlight will be on "What Girls Want". This party can be so much fun for little girls who love to dress up! You can bring your little girl's fancy clothes or play dress up clothes or use our collection of very frilly, fancy dresses or dress up clothing. You choose-hey, use both! Whatever pretty things your little girl decides to wear, we'll pretty it up by adding accessories that either you bring, we have, or once again-BOTH! Lots of sparkles, rhinestones, boas, scarves, jewelry, hair wear, and jewelry is what we have in mind. Looking for a "playing grown-up" look? Either bring or use a pair of our high heels as well! Family Portraits

I did family portraits a couple of weeks ago for a super great bunch of folks and had such a GREAT time! We did outdoor portraits at Fireman's Park in Montpelier and the best fun of all was putting the grandkids in the tree! Thanks for letting me provide a memoir of your family at this time in your life and some "heartprints" for you all to cherish! You are a super family!

Portrait Parties Arriving soon!

Get ready! Our new portrait parties are arriving on June 21! Book yours now and be one of the first to get in on this new fun idea that will provide you with free portraits!

Hostess gets free portraits! You can hold the party at a location of your choice: our studio, on location or in your home.

How it works: It's very simple...along the lines of a kitchen item party but with a fun photo shoot for each family or guest instead of bowls and spatulas. You invite the individuals or families you want to share in your special party and we will set up the photo shoot area. We can do a huge variety of sessions from general to themed sessions such as vintage portraits (with images in sepia or black and white), fairies, pirates, princesses, old time baseball, rainy day fun, western day, glamour shots, dress up, ballet or other dance, formal, cowboys, and MUCH, MUCH more! Have a theme not listed? Please feel free to contact us and we will make it happen!

You provide the guests, the snacks and a space for the sessions (unless you choose to have it in our studio), figure 1/2 hour for each family or individual and we provide the incredible portraits that will forever showcase your family and friends.

Announcing Set Fee Children's Sessions

Announcing our set fee Children's Sessions....From April 15 through October 9 we will be offering set fee Children's Sessions (preferably outdoor on location-but other arrangements can be made) for children from age 1 and up. The session will be $70 (with $35 payable at booking) and will include...
*2 hour session at location of your choice or one recommended by me at your
request.
*No limit on poses or wardrobe changes.
*30 of the best pictures on a CD that you can print from.
*$5 extra fee for each extra child.
*8 wallets of your choosing (up to 4 different poses).
*(2) 5 x 7s of your choice.

The pictures on the CD will be used for you to choose your printed pictures from. Cancellations within 48 hours of the shoot time will result in client forfeiting the booking deposit; however you may reschedule the booking and not lose the deposit as long as the rescheduling takes place at least 24 hours before the shoot time. After the booking fee is paid, the balance will be due on the day of the shoot. Additional fees may be added if extensive travel is required, please ask at the time of booking if you are uncertain. This will be a fun, relaxed shoot and you should feel free to bring along any props, pets, etc. that you would like to include in your pictures. I want your child to have fun! Swing Into Spring Promotion

The Swing Into Spring promotion begins on March 17. Now taking bookings. This sitting will involve one of three different types of swings and a spring background. Remember there is never a sitting fee as long as an order is placed and a down payment on the order made at the sitting. Every sitting will receive a free photo! Once the bookings are filled I will be moving on to Easter photos so don't miss out on these special sittings!

Good news! Our website is nearing completion and it is hoped will be launched soon so that you can see even better examples of our work and get answers to your questions quickly and efficiently. First and foremost we want it clear that we believe capturing your memories is the most important thing we can do for you and we will do it at a price you can afford! High quality photography doesn't have to be expensive. Importance of Photos

Pictures are worth a thousand words. We have all heard that many times. Pictures are also worth many memories. It seems so easy to remember the baby faces of our children but all too soon they are grown and gone and the memories of their faces tend to fade into our already full brains; we have weddings and people ask after the fact what our dresses looked like, what type of cake topper we had, what color the decorations were; parents age; teens graduate and on and on go the opportunities to document our lives and save them not only for our own memories but also supplying the opportunity for future generations to get a glimpse into our lives. A photographer can save your moments to be enjoyed for years to come. Engagement and wedding photos can reflect who you are as a couple, document that skinned up nose on a little fella, eternally capture her ballerina stage and much, much more. ANOTHER UPDATE ON BRIDAL/ENGAGEMENT/WEDDING SITTINGS

One more update on the above mentioned sittings. I have had a very good response to my request for doing portfolio shots for engagements, bridal and wedding portraits. I have confirmed bookings for both the bridal and engagement sittings so those are no longer available but if you are interested in either of those at regular rates, please feel free to contact me by email at thanksforkids@aol.com and I will quote you my regular, reasonable rates. As for the wedding booking, I have been in talks with one couple who have as of yet to confirm a contract meeting so if you are still interested in that, I will still make it available to the first couple I actually confirm by contract with.
