Engagement Couple/Bride/Wedding Party Wanted

As we near the end of the year and look forward to a new beginning in a New Year, it makes us think of weddings. I am looking for three different types of people to be offered a VERY special price on their photos. First I am looking for a couple who need engagement photos done, second a bride to be needing a bridal portrait done and third a couple who will be getting married and need a photographer. The engagement photo package will be $45 for the session, all pictures on CD that you can print from, a DVD set to music, and a 5 x 7 portrait. The bridal sitting will include the session, all pictures on CD that you can print from and (2) 5 x 7 portraits for $50. The wedding session will include a full day of photography for your special day from beginning to end. This will include any and all locations you choose, whatever events you choose (such as the bride getting ready at hair appointment, getting dressed, attendants before the wedding, same for groom, the wedding, the formal portraits sessions and the reception from beginning to end). You choose, we'll provide. This will also include all photos on CD which you may print from and (2) 8 x 10 portraits plus a very special surprise. The cost for this session will be $210. These openings are for these three sessions only and once they are filled, they will no longer be available. If you are interested in being considered for one of these special packages, please email your name, which session you are interested in and the date you are considering for the session to thanksforkids@aol.com no later than January 25, 2009.

Wrapping Up Holiday Shoots

Well we are down to the last couple holiday shoots! It has been such a great experience already this year and I continue to learn more and more about great ways to capture your memories affordably. The selective coloring has become a very popular item with my customers as well as a new mirage effect we can do on certain pictures. Below are some shots from a couple of the recent shoots. Thanks to the Harding family for the opportunity to do their shoot this past weekend. We are now taking bookings for our "Swing Into Spring" sessions which will take place in March. These sessions will include either a plain or spring background and your choice of a swing prop...either the wooden log swing, a white wicker swing or one other type to be determined. Book your session now before they fill up!

Whew What a Start!

Thankfully the soft start of this photography business has bloomed into a full fledge take off! I have been doing regular shoots for the holidays and have at least two more before Christmas. We still have up until the 14th to be able to get your pictures back for Christmas. If you would like to book a shoot, please email me at thanksforkids@aol.com . I would be glad to work you in so you don't miss a moment of special times in your lives! Thanks to the Dillon Family who let me share in their special Christmas memories since it is the first one with their last baby.

We are doing a triple side by side frame of the three kids with these first three pictures....

Thanks again guys and Merry Christmas!

A New Beginning

Well American Tradition Photography is up and running! I am so excited to be undertaking this endeavor! A very nice lady I know in the newspaper business wrote the following article in a local newspaper about me and I must say I was soo flattered! It has already brought me a little business.

American Tradition Photography is now "Creating Everlasting Memories Affordably"

Many local citizens are quite familiar with Montpelier resident, Carla Walda. Walda has been working as a stringer for various newspapers in the past few years, covering numerous school and community events. Many children know her as the face behind the camera...and their impending claim to fame in the local newspapers! Walda, who has a great love for photography, has decided to take her work the next level as a professional photographer and start her own business: American Tradition Photography. The business motto, "Creating everlasting memories affordably," is also Walda's business creed. She hopes to open the door of opportunity for many by providing them quality photos at a great price. She will be doing children and family portraits, holiday pictures, senior ipctures, sports action shots, school pictures, wedding pictures, event photos, scrapbook photos, maternity portraits, newborn portraits, business headshots and basically, "whatever anyone needs". Pricing for her services are $6 a sheet which consists of either (1) 8 x 10, (2) 5 x 7s, (2) 4 x 6s, (6 or 8-depending on style) wallets. Packages start at $20 which includes the sitting fee. "I am available to do portraits at my home, client's homes, or on location. I am also available to travel further for things like honeymoon pictures (or whatever the need is) for extra fees", she said. "There is no extra fee for shooting on location within a 35-mile radius", Walda added. Walda also has physical backdrops and can use greenscreen backdrops and do selective coloring. She is very skilled in her trade and has enjoyed special recognition for her photography. Two years ago, one of her photos from Civil War Days was used in a Library of Congress Coffee Table Book. She was also offered the opportunity to interview for a photography job at Walt Disney World this past summer. Anyone interested in Walda's photography services, or anyone wishing to learn more about what she has to offer can contact her at ***-***-**** (omitted for safety issues-available locally only) or email her at thanksforkids@aol.com. She hopes to have her website up and running soon for people to see first hand what her capabilities are. Anyone wishing to see her work up front beforehand can contact her and request sample photos for review.

Wasn't that just the nicest thing?! What a sweetheart of a lady she is and I do believe this is the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me!

So I will start posting "teaser" photos here on this blog after shoots. Please do not copy or print any of them as it IS illegal as they are copyrighted to American Tradition Photography and they are low res so it won't be the best reflection of my work anyhow! :) Blessings to everyone for a wonderful Thanksgiving! I pray you will get to spend it safely and comfortably with ones you love.
